St John’s Pool – February ’09

st-johns-pool1We met at St John’s Pool near Dunnet on Sunday 8th.  Despite the amount of snow around we had a really good turn out.  The sun shone for most of the morning so it was a very pleasant morning to be out and about.  We spent the morning clearing willow from around the car park, removed the now defunct fence, and a new screen built for the bird hide.  It was a very productive morning and we then enjoyed a lovely lunch courtesy of Julian Smith.  To find out more about St John’s Pool, the birds that use it, and the work he does at the pool then you can visit his site here: http://artsmith-caithness.co.uk/artsmith_birds/
