Patrick Sinclairs’ Grave, Lybster – May ’09

p10100671On Sunday 31st we met at Lybster to clear the path that leads to Patrick Sinclairs’ grave. The path had been severely neglected for several years, to the point where there wasn’t really any indication as to where it had gone! We battled our way through some very dense whins, and eventually caught a glimpse of where we were aiming for. It was hard work on what turned out to be a very hot day, but very rewarding to find our target, and then see our newly created path. We then retired to the Portland Arms for a well deserved cold drink!

Individuals volunteer for many different reasons, but one thing common to all Countryside Volunteers is that they find it interesting, challenging, rewarding and most exciting of all… they receive opportunities to acquaint themselves with the environment around them; in ways most people are never able to.
