Salmonberry at Tister Farm – Sept ’09

We met on Sunday 13th at Tister Farm to remove some of the salmonberry that is growing in the hedges. Salmonberry is a non-native species that has escaped from gardens, having originally come from the west coast of North America. At Tister some salmonberry has been sprayed to kill it, while on Sunday we were cutting it down and digging it out. It can then be seen which method will be the best for permanent removal. A large amount was removed, with the telehandler removing 4 loads.
